Unfortunate sad incident. A man was killed this morning along Ikorodu Rd, by Ojota bus-stop. He was knocked down by a hit and run driver when he wanted to cross the high way. He died on the spot. Police have since arrived the scene of the incident...

There are so many people who don't believe Muna Obiekwe is gone. I understand your reservations. He was a young, vibrant, talented guy whose illness we all didn't even know about. So his death is hard to take. Unfortunately it's true. Here's a pic of him on a dialysis machine, prior to his death. And a pic of him when he arrived at the hospital this afternoon is circulating on Twitter. He collapsed at home and they rushed him to the hospital where doctors confirmed him dead on arrival

Shocking sad news! Actor Muna Obiekwe has died

Yes, it's true! Actor Muna Obiekwe has died. He died this afternoon around 4:15pm in a hospital in Lagos after a battle with kidney failure. He was rushed to the hospital today after he collapsed at his home. Muna has been quietly battling this kidney disease but kept it hush hush from friends and colleagues. So Sad! A colleague said for over two weeks before he died didn't go for his dialysis.

Muna needed money for his health problems but instead of going public to raise money, he told friends he was planning a stage play to raise money but died before he could do it. Unbelievably sad!

Meanwhile, there's some twitter handle called @MunaObiekwe that's denying his death. That is not Muna! Unfortunately the real one is gone. Unbelievable! RIP to a great actor!

Breaking news! Petroleum Minister announces reduction in fuel price

Petroleum Minister Alison-Madueke has announced a N10 reduction in pump price of petrol from N97 per litre to N87 per litre effective midnight tonight January 18th. Just watched her announcement on NTA! Great stuff!

What Diezani Alison-Madueke said this evening as she announced a reduction in fuel price...

As you may be aware, there has been a lot of volatility in the oil market in the past few months and due to this the importation prices of our petroleum products have been impacted.

Therefore, with the approval and directive of Mr. President and by virtue of Section 6 clause 1 of the Nigerian Petroleum Act, it is my responsibility as Minister of Petroleum Resources to hereby announce a reduction in the pump price of Petroleum Motor Spirit (Petrol) from the current Ninety Seven Naira (=N=97) per litre pump price down to Eighty Seven Naira (=N87=) per litre pump price, effective from twelve (12) midnight Sunday, 18th of January 2015.

Accordingly, I have directed the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) and the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) to ensure strict compliance of this price adjustment by all marketing companies.

It is my hope that all Nigerians will benefit from this adjustment. I thank you and God Bless you all.

British comedian, actor and presenter Stephen Fry, 57, announced on twitter yesterday that he has married his partner, 27 year old Elliot Spencer, 10 ten after they announced their engagement and about a year after they started dating. Elliot is a standup comedian.

Elliot Spencer's father, who at 57 is the same age as Stephen Fry, said yesterday he and his wife Melanie, 52, are 'over the moon' over their son's marriage to the QI presenter. "'We are obviously very happy. We are over the moon, that is all I want to say.'

According to a report on Vanguard two people were trampled to death in a stampede during the APC presidential campaign in Plateau state yesterday January 17th.

The victims were said to be trying to force their way out of the crowded Rwang Pam Township Stadium, venue of the event, when they were trampled on and they gave up the ghost.

There was another bomb blast today, January 18 from a suicide bomber who drove in a Golf car. He rammed the car, hitting a Petrol Station in Potiskum, Yobe State. He killed four, including himself and injured 48 people. Sad!
